The morning began by waking up at 3:00 am. An early start in order to be ready for the events of the day! We loaded onto the bus at 5;30 am and headed to Breakfast Television for our segment about Miss Teen Canada World 2013. The live taping went smoothly and was a great experience!
After the taping we went to Grenadier Cafe for toast, bacon and eggs for breakfast! The food was beautiful, and the views from the outdoor patio were terrific!
Following breakfast we headed downtown to visit the CN Tower. It was my first time visiting the tower and the view was incredible!
After seeing the tower and reaching the top level, we headed by bus to the Distillery District, a quaint gated area that contains numerous local artisans, bakers, and boutiques. It feels like a little Europe there inside of all the business of Toronto. It was there that we had the pageant scavenger hunt!
After completing the scavenger we dined at Cafe Uno for lunch, took some photographs with the charming surroundings and headed to the Yorkdale mall. At Yorkdale we visited Costa Blanca to do some shopping! Costa Blanca sponsored the MTCW2013 pageant and provided each one of us with a $50 gift card!
Thank you Costa Blanca for being extremely generous and friendly to the delegates of MTCW!
After getting our shop on we headed to the Much Music studio to be on a live taping of New Music Live! Being live at the studio was incredible, and I even got to meet Lauren Toyota, a host at Much that I have been watching on TV back home!
After taking pictures with the hosts and performers from the Unity Festival and Much Music we headed back to the hotel for dinner and rest! What an exhausting but eventful day!
Today was a day of nerves, excitement and experiences! Today was the day of the judges interview, photo shoot, and video interview. The day began with an early breakfast at the hotel and then hair & makeup by the team of stylists.
The judges interview is always a pageant component that makes me nervous, but it went well and I am so thankful for the judges patience and kindness! It must be tough to interview 65 contestants in one day!
After the interview I enjoyed a wonderful lunch and then went to get my hair and makeup professionally done. The photo shoot was fast but very fun! Having a fan blow at me during the pictures felt especially glamourous. I wore my favourite purple cocktail dress!
This picture is from when I wore the dress to my winter semi-formal.
Finally the video shoot was so fun to be a part of! I got to record my introduction and answer 2 questions on camera! Overall the day was absolutely spectacular and another incredible day of Miss Teen Canada World 2013!
Today I woke up with so much excitement to finally head to Miss Teen Canada World 2013, a time for all my hard work to pay off! I woke up early this morning, finished packing my things, and headed for the airport. The flight was calm and short, but not short enough! I arrived at the hotel and met my roommate for the week in the lobby, and the experience began to feel real.
I would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone that donated pop cans/bottles in support of Free the Children! Your generosity is greatly appreciated! As well I would like to share that I reached my personal fundraising goal of $1000! I am so excited for the money to go toward youth empowerment and such a great cause!
Here are some photos of myself and a drop off of pop cans and bottles for Free the Children! Once again, thank you for all of your continuous support!
Today I volunteered with P.R.O. Kids (Positive Recreational Opportunities for Kids) at the annual Teddy Bear Picnic Thunder Bay. It is an annual event that hosts dozens of booths from various community organizations and businesses that host interactive activities. P.R.O. Kids is my pageant platform, and it is my goal to raise awareness for this amazing organization and the lives it enriches through sports, arts, and activities.
The P.R.O. Kids booth had children’s tattoos and circle time! Circle time consisted of stories and songs for all the kids to enjoy. The children really enjoyed circle time, and it allowed a chance for the two other volunteers and myself to talk to the parent/guardians about what P.R.O. Kids does in the city of Thunder Bay.
The mission of P.R.O. Kids is to provide positive recreational opportunities for kids who are not able to participate because of lack of funds. It is an amazing program that began in the city of Thunder Bay that provides programs to hundreds of youth 0-18 annually. I am the Youth Representative on the P.R.O. Kids board, and have had the honour of learning more about the organization and just how many lives it changes. I can attest that being involved in various activities throughout my youth such as swimming, dancing, modelling, singing, piano and guitar lessons has contributed to the person that I am today. Recreational activities outside of the school environment taught about time management, working as a member of a team, and the dedication that it takes to learn a skill. I am very passionate about my platform because I know the impact that recreational activities make in the life of a child, and that no child should be denied these experiences because their family cannot afford.
Applying to P.R.O. Kids Thunder Bay is a simple process, simply fill out an application that requires personal information, desired programs, and season of activity and submit at the P.R.O. Kids office at the Victoriaville Civic Centre, Thunder Bay. A child qualifies for P.R.O. Kids if they are not currently active and the circumstances are because of extenuating financial difficulties, as well applicants must include the name of a reference who can verify their financial need.
I hope that through Miss Teen Canada World 2013 I can promote P.R.O. Kids and raise awareness in other communities that do not have this program currently available, as well as generate public support within my hometown of Thunder Bay.
On Saturday July 6th I had the opportunity to be a face painter at the birthday party of my family friend’s while accepting donations for Free the Children. It was a very fun experience to educate the children and their parents about the organization itself, Miss Teen Canada World and my pageant platform.
It was an incredible afternoon to show off my artistic side as well as fundraise for an incredible cause that is dedicated to empowering young people in 45 countries across the world.

Want to know what my dream vacation would be? My dream vacation with friends would be traveling to the beautiful and sunny location of the Bahamas! I chose the Bahamas because it is a beautiful and tropical location with endless opportunities for fun! It is a vacation destination with resorts, shopping, food, beaches, scenery, wildlife, nightlife, activities, excursions and an overall fantastic experience! I have dreamed of visiting the Bahamas since I was a little girl, when I saw the Mary Kate & Ashley movie (Holiday in the Sun) that took place there!
It was that movie, that planted the dream in my mind to one day visit this beautiful location!
On this trip I would take with me my best friends Gabriela, Courtney, Rachel, Amanda, Giulia, Ghia, Kylee, and Martina! My dream trip would include spending a day touring the capital city of Nassau and visiting the Straw Market to do some shopping with my girlfriends!
The next day I would want to spend it on the beach, soaking in the sun and relaxing the day away! After that I would want to spend an evening cruising the coast on a catamaran, enjoying the views on the open waters, taking pictures, and having a picnic aboard the boat!
After cruising the Atlantic Ocean I would spend an afternoon playing beach volleyball with my friends versus the welcoming staff of S-Trip for a friendly game! While also enjoying the warm temperatures and never-ending sun! Another part of this dream trip would include spending a day volunteering and giving back to the Bahamas by dedicating one day of my vacation to make a difference in the lives of others! This would be an unforgettable experience that would be shared by my best friends and myself for the rest of our lives.
On my dream trip I would also want to enjoy themed parties like Tight n’ Bright, Masquerade Carnival and Gradfitti to truly have the S-Trip experience!
My friends would enjoy spending time with each other, and making memories to last a lifetime! But most of all spending a day volunteering, because my friends are the most genuine and good hearted people I have ever met! There is nothing that warms their hearts more than helping others!
Travelling with my friends would be such a pleasure! There would be many laughs, inside jokes, pictures, and stories to share with the rest of our friends and family when we arrived home! I know that university and life may take us on different paths, and we may not be as close as we were in high school but a dream trip like this one would be a final time for all of us to be together and have a memory to hold onto for the rest of our lives!

From Saturday June 22th- July 12th I will be collecting pop cans/alcohol beverage (wine bottles, beer bottle cases etc.) containers to raise money for Free the Children.
Free the Children is the official charity of Miss Teen Canada World with a mission of empowering youth to achieve their fullest potential as agents of change through education, and engagement across the world. As part of my position of Miss Teen Thunder Bay World- 2013 I am fundraising for this amazing organization and appreciate the generous support that I have received from my community! If nobody is home when you drop by feel free to leave your cans in the collection trailer in the driveway! 🙂
On Canada Day I was invited to appear at the OLG Casino Thunder Bay’s block party & cruiser day. This is an annual event, that I was honoured to be a part of in my position as Miss Teen Thunder Bay World 2013. The block party consisted of food booths, live entertainment from local artists, and a vintage car display.
At the block party I had the opportunity to meet many people and talk to them about what it is like to represent my city, the official charity of MTCW Free the Children, and the pageant itself. As well I took pictures with many people and their amazing vintage cars! Later in the afternoon, I announced draw winners on stage and talked to the crowd about Miss Teen Canada World as well as my title.
It was an incredible day, and an amazing time to celebrate Canada and the people who live here!

It was a wonderful day, and I hope everyone had a safe and happy Canada Day as well!
When I decided to compete in Miss Teen Canada World 2013 and learned about the amazing work done by Free the Children, I knew that I should host an awesome event to raise money for this cause. I came up with the idea of hosting a Dinner & Dance Event, because anyone that knows me knows I love to dance and host a party!
Hosting an event of this size took a lot of hard work, involvement from my friends and family, and support from the community.
I would like to extend my warmest gratitude to all of my friends and family who attended by event and helped to sell tickets! In addition I would like to thank the businesses who donated products for my silent auction! Thank you to Maltese Grocery Thunder Bay, AVON, The Body Shop, The Picture Store, OLG Thunder Bay Casino, and LUX Boutique!
The night was a fabulous success! Over 130 guests attended, the silent auction went outstanding and the 50/50 draw alone raised $400 for Free the Children!
The night began with a speech and introduction by myself, followed by dinner, musical performances after the meal, draws, and finally dancing!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME AND SUPPORTED THIS EVENT! I COULDN’T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU!
